August 30, 2014 Inkspots Meeting: Minutes In attendance: Ginny Furmanski, Christina Altfeld, Bay Hallowell, Ines Monguio, Judy Gibbs, Rosemarie Gebhart , Monica Wiesblott , Beverly Decker, Karen Schroeder, Asandra.
Three topics covered:
1. Inkspots annual exhibition
2. Book project
3. Santa Barbara Tennis Club exhibition
1. Inkspots annual exhibition
A) Artist’s reception is November 7, 2014, 5 to 8 pm.
B) Potluck for reception: Bring sweets and savories, wine (everyone brings two bottles: one white, one red)
C) There is a sign up/task list on inkspots website.
D) Christina and Karen Schroeder will hang the exhibit.
E) Asandra and Rosemarie will handle the Press release/marketing.
F) Bay will do the labels.
G) Deadline for artwork delivered to studio and label info to Bay: October 31.
H) Each person can bring two to three pieces, medium and small preferred. Mark them on the back with 1, 2, 3 in order of preference of what to hang. Framed as per usual (Black with white mat preferred).
I) Work for the bin should be shrink wrapped or in plastic sleeves
J) Check the inkspots website task list for paper goods, food sign up, and gallery sitting tasks.
2. Book project
A) Two extra books will be for sale.
B) Artwork for book project is September 15 (leave in studio for Judy Gibbs).
3. SB Tennis Club exhibit
A) A vote was taken. Nine artists agreed to do the exhibit. There is room for more if other members want to participate.
B) We agreed to do the show in March 2015.
C) Rosemarie and Ginny are handling the communication between SB Tennis Club and inkspots members. Further details will be presented from Ginny and Rosemarie when available.
D) The exhibit costs $750. Each artist will contribute $50, and the remainder will come from inkspot’s funds.
